Sadly, the Review-Journal reported that our State Courts have been rated "one of the most unfair" in the nation.1 Judge Assad, Heidi's opponent, is a case study for what is wrong with our judicial system and is unqualified to be your judge. He is the lowest rated judge in Clark County.2 Sixty-nine percent of attorneys surveyed recommended that Judge Assad not be retained.3
Since his last election, Judge Assad has been disciplined by the Nevada Supreme Court for his unethical conduct as a judge. Assad abused the power and trust granted to him by the citizens of Las Vegas when he threatened and locked up an innocent woman as bait to compel her boyfriend to appear in his courtroom.4 The Nevada Supreme Court found that "Judge Assad knew that his threat to her did not 'comply with the law,' it did not show respect for the law, and it did not promote public confidence in the judiciary's integrity."5 |
